Within a few days after the devastating Memorial Day weekend floods, Texas Conservation Corps moved in to help those who had been affected. Participants have helped to restore homes by removing flood damaged parts and tarping roofs. They have also been checking homes for safety. And, participants have been removing trees that have become dangerous due to flood damage. For pictures of our work, check out the Texas Conservation Corps’ Facebook page.
A HUGE THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO MADE A DIFFERENCE!
There has been a huge outpouring of support as thousands of volunteers came to help flood victims in Wimberley, San Marcos, and Bastrop. We’re also fortunate to have groups from around the country who came to aid us: Arizona Conservation Corps, AmeriCorps St. Louis, Hoopa Tribal Civilian Community Corps, Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa, and CADRE.
